Example:

A business wants to make a number of changes in their marketing effort.

Scenarios are developed using the business’s latest Living Blueprint, representing the current state of the business.  A number of alternatives are examined, including likely response from competitors if the marketing strategy were to be changed.

Conclusions drawn from these scenarios and supporting information are presented to management / decision=makers for approval of the proposed changes.  Typically decision-makers will request that additional scenarios be examined - or, they will use the system themselves to explore for key strategic insight.

The changes are made and results obtained are compared with the archived scenario results.  Unexpected differences are rationalized and the business’s Living Blueprint is upgraded to account for these differences.
