The DeSASim “Engine” is a unique pre-engineered business simulator.  This expert system quickly turns a Living Blueprint into dynamic "What-if" scenarios for prototyping possible futures and exposing risks and opportunities for the business.  It utilizes Microsoft Office and Windows software - no computer training, additional networks or special hardware are required.

  • The engine's interactive controls are intuitive and comprehensive, making it easy and possible to explore a wide spectrum of different business situations - whether for immediate action-oriented decision-making or for training - preparing for the uncertain future.
  • The engine can serve as an exceptional training tool and guide taking advantage of on-line Help functions that define and organize each financial and operational metric.
  • The engine is also self-documenting and self-archiving during a scenario-creation process, making a scenario available to be used as a “work-in-progress” by other system users.
  • Week-by-week performance metrics can be archived for each scenario and made available to any other DeSASim system for detailed comparison.

Example:

Significant changes in raw material costs are likely to occur in the near future.  These changes will, most likely, be different in the several countries in which a business operates.  The overall effect of these changes must be estimated to access global pricing strategy.

Personnel in each country have the latest Living Blueprints covering their current business.  Each has been structured to represent the way business is done within their particular country.  Changes in raw materials costs as well as any allied effects are input and the local effects of these changes are examined under various operating scenarios.  Business management for each country suggests their preferred course of action to counter the expected increase in raw materials costs.

All recommendations as well as the modified country specific Living Blueprints are electronically transmitted to the main office where the combined overall effects are accessed to define a general course of action regarding future pricing. When all scenarios are completed, they’re transmitted intra-country to see if any new ideas are forthcoming.

All financial and performance metrics are available for review by all participants in the analysis.
