"Living Blueprint" – A unique working profile that fully describes a business or group of businesses or products – it captures business experience.

  • Serves as a key strategic resource, essential for efficient business information back-up and continuity.
  • Compact, coded document with minimal storage requirements, easily distributed over most any computer network.
  • Requires no expert technical assistance for creation or interpretation.
  • Each Blueprint is complete within itself – self-contained with automatic indexing protocol and linkage to the DeSASim system.
  • Generic structure – a wide variety of business types can be accommodated without any modification.  No programming skills needed.
  • No limit to the number of Living Blueprints that can be utilized by any one DeSASim system.
  • Living Blueprints created on one DeSASim System can be fully accessed on any other DeSASim system.

A Cost-effective Long-term Investment

Example:

A business consists of 10 small business units (SBUs).  A single Living Blueprint exists to document the current state of these businesses.

As time passes, capital additions are proposed that will change the productivity of several of these SBUs.  Personnel knowledgeable about these additions access the appropriate Living Blueprint and update those entries that document these additions and their expected productivity effect.

Company “experts” have differing opinions as to the total downstream effects of capital additions.  Accordingly, several versions of the primary Living Blueprint are developed and used to predict the future behavior of the business under various operating scenarios.  The effects of each differing opinion are thus quantified, the results are discussed, and the business team quickly comes to a general consensus.  All Blueprints are located in the company “Bank” or library, ready for additional scenario analysis by anyone authorized and networked to this source.
